Engine Diagnostics

An engine diagnostic is a test which is performed to learn more about why an engine is not functioning properly. The engine diagnostic is used to gather data which can be utilized in the repair of the vehicle, and it can also be used during things like emissions testing, in which a car is checked to confirm that it adheres to emissions standards for vehicles in its class.

Performing an engine diagnostic begins with plugging a device into the car’s onboard computer. The device interfaces with the computer, returning a diagnostic code which can be referenced against a list of codes for vehicles from that manufacturer. If the engine is in good working condition, the device will inform the user. If there is a problem, one or several codes may be displayed.

Codes can mean a wide variety of things. During an engine diagnostic, we determines what is causing each code to display, for the purpose of developing an estimate to let a driver know how much it will cost to address a problem. Sometimes, the issue is simple, while in other cases, it can be very complex.

We use the same diagnostics system used by main dealers such as:

  • Vauxhall
  • Saab
  • Mercedes Benz
  • BMW
  • Citreon
  • Peugeot
  • Renault
  • Suburu

So if your engine management light comes on or you think your car isn’t performing as it should, don’t ignore it, bring it in to us and we’ll provide the solutions.

We can provide new alloy wheels for your vehicle. We supply and fit loads of makes at great prices – just ask. Your wheels will be fitted with the correct tyres, ready to roll. We can even customise alloy wheels for whatever look you’re going for.

Alloy wheels are the most easily damaged part of any vehicle. Hitting the kerb when parking can cause scratches and scuffs, potholes can cause chips and dents and even the weather can dull and flake the paint. Luckily, most of this damage can be quickly and easily reversed.

Alloy Wheel Refurbishment Process

  • Visual inspection of damaged wheels/tyres
  • Damage is then either machined out or filled
  • Anti-corrosion techniques are used to protect the wheel
  • Surfaces are primed and prepared for painting
  • Primer is hardened in our low bake oven
  • A top coat of paint is then applied
  • Two coats of clear lacquer are then applied to the front and back of the wheel
  • The wheels are fully cured with another round in our low bake oven
  • The wheels are then ready to have the tyres refitted

We can mix any colour combination in-house that the customer requires. We can also powder coat wheels at the customer’s request. Just contact us to discuss the options best suited to your needs.

SMART Vehicle Repairs

We can undertake SMART (Small Medium Area Repair Technique) repairs when possible. Often, it is not the best option to do these repairs based on the type and location of the damage and due to the technical limitations of this method – an exact colour match to existing paintwork is very difficult. However, sometimes these methods can be used and include:

  • Small scratches
  • Stone chips
  • Moulding cracks
  • Corrosion and rust
  • Aluminium pittingr
  • Fibreglass repair
  • Carbon fibre repair

Paintless Dent Removal

Paintless Dent Removal (PDR) can be undertaken on damaged panels where the paint hasn’t been broken. Our trained technicians use steel rods to gently massage and remove a dent from a damaged area, encouraging the panel to return to its original factory pressed shape, keeping the original paintwork intact. No paints, filler or chemicals are used during this repair method.

Plastic Bumper Repair

Plastic bumpers don’t always need to be replaced when damage occurs. Instead they can be saved with innovative auto reconditioning techniques. Our experienced technicians can repair scuffed, scratched, dented, detached, and torn bumpers for much less than the cost of replacement.
